Active – Sobriety, Friendship and Peace is organizing a conference on December 04th 2013, regarding its Human Rights Generation project, a few days before International Human Rights Day and in light of the European Parliament elections.
The conference will be held from 13:00 – 17:10, in the premises of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
Our aim is to open a debate between young people and decision makers on current issues (such as children's wellbeing, youth unemployment, police brutality, corruption, youth participation in the local community, etc.) and to focus on the way they are dealt with in Europe.
The conference will promote videos made on specific human rights issues in combination with two panel debates on the two following topics:
1. "Democracy in crisis - Young people's challenges of today", dealing with the influence of the crisis on Europe, on employment for young people, on building individuals in alcohol-free environments and investments in the future for young people.
2. "Digging out dreams – Children’s wellbeing and alcohol", and focuses more on the well-being of children, families and environments children grow up in and practices of profit companies toward children.
Invited speakers at the panels include: members of the European Parliament, members of the European Commission, the European Youth Forum, Eurochild, European Public Health Alliance, and young heart-driven activists from our member organizations from around Europe.
